Scheduled programs include Zumba on Wednesdays from 7 to 8 p.m. for individuals age 12 and older and Men's 30+ Open Gym Basketball on Thursdays from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday night programs designed for individuals age 5 and older will run from 6 to 7 p.m. Upcoming Tuesday programs will include Salsa Making on Sept. 15, Bountiful Harvest on Sept. 29, Homemade Herb Butter Family Workshop on Oct. 13, and Pumpkin Science on Oct. 27.
American Red Cross Babysitter Training will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 30. The program is designed for youths ages 11 to 15. Youths planning to babysit will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. Participants will learn to develop leadership skills, develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe, and help children behave. They will also learn basic child care and first aid. Space is limited.
American Red Cross Pediatric First Aid/CPR will take place on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is open to individuals ages 11 to 16. Participants will learn to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns; cuts; scrapes; sudden illnesses; head, neck, and back injuries; heat and cold emergencies; and breathing and cardiac emergencies. The training will be specific to helping children up to age 12 who require first aid or CPR. Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification is valid for two years. Space is limited.
