The New Friends of York County group invites area ladies to attend its first meeting of the year on Thursday, Sept. 17. Weather permitting, the meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at Springettsbury Park, 2986 Pleasant Valley Road, York.
The evening's program will be social, but attendees are asked to practice social distancing. Attendees are also asked to wear a mask and bring a packed meal, a snack, utensils, and a beverage, as well as a chair, if desired. Tables and seating will be available in Pavilion 2 near the tennis courts, and park restrooms will be available.

An outdoor event is also being planned at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, weather permitting. Those who may be interested in attending are asked to hold that date on their calendar. More details will be announced later.
New Friends introduces woman residents of the York community to each other and offers opportunities for companionship and friendship through social events and interest group activities.
