The Hershey Public Library, 701 Cocoa Ave., Hershey, will offer activities for people of all ages in October. On Saturday, Oct. 3, Kathleen Forney, fused glass artist, will host a program under the trees at the library. From 1 to 4 p.m., participants will make either a fused glass plate or a fused glass coaster. The program is suitable for individuals age 14 and older.
Laura English will present "The Art of Truth: A Writing Class on Creative Nonfiction," a virtual class for adults on the Google Meet platform. The program will be held on Sundays, Oct. 4 to Nov. 8, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Registration should be completed at http://www.eventbrite.com.
Nutrition on a Budget, a virtual program presented by Shanna Shultz, RD, LDN, will be offered on Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. Participants will learn tricks and hacks to help increase nutrition while staying on budget. The program is suitable for individuals age 16 and older.
Children age 6 and older are invited to join the Virtual LEGO Club on Wednesdays, Oct. 7 and 21. The club will meet virtually from 3:35 to 4:30 p.m.
Local musicians will perform outside in the Reading Garden on Fridays, Oct. 9 and 23, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Visitors to the socially-distanced event should bring chairs, snacks, and a blanket, if desired. Registration is not necessary. Face masks or coverings are required.
Pumpkin Planter Terrarium Therapy with Tiffany Anderson will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 6 to 7 p.m. Participants will create a seasonal decorative project. There is a cost, and registration is required at http://www.eventbrite.com. The event will be held outside the library. A portion of all ticket sales will benefit Friends of the Hershey Public Library. The program is suitable for individuals age 14 and older.
Finding Life on Other Worlds will be presented on Sunday, Oct. 18, from 2 to 3 p.m. on Zoom. The Hershey-based science journalist Robert Naeye will explore several different roads for detecting life beyond Earth. The program is suitable for individuals age 14 and older.
