The YMCA of York and York County recently received a $5,000 grant from the FirstEnergy Foundation to support its charitable programs, including the New American Welcome Center. The center is designed to help newcomers to the area adjust to life in their new homes and weather the current crises.
The YMCA has been working with community partners, including FirstEnergy, to meet the needs of those affected by COVID-19 through programs that give individuals essential resources, including food, utility assistance, shelter, child care, and case management.
