Epilepsy Foundation Plans Drive-Through Event

Oct 17, 2020 - 9:00 am

The Epilepsy Foundation Eastern Pennsylvania (EFEPA) has announced that the Walk to End Epilepsy - Lancaster will be a Purple Pop-up Party. Community members are invited to join EFEPA between 9 a.m. and noon on Saturday, Oct. 17, for this drive-through celebration at the Barnstormers' home stadium, 650 N. Prince St., Lancaster.

In place of the in-person walk, participants may cruise around the stadium's warning track, stopping at stations around the field. At the purple EFEPA tent, EFEPA staff and volunteers will greet attendees and give them instructions for the driving course. Participants may also pick up their official Walk to End Epilepsy T-shirts and any incentive prizes they won during Virtual Walk Month.

There will be music playing throughout the stadium and a special presentation on the big screen to thank sponsors and feature participants. Attendees may wave to the Barnstormers' mascot, Cylo; do a little trick-or-treating; and participate in awareness raising activities. Supplies to continue raising awareness in one's neighborhood and community will be provided.

Attendees are encouraged to decorate their cars in purple and write messages of awareness and encouragement on the windows.

To register for the Purple Pop-up Party, readers may visit http://www.epilepsywalklanc.org.

The event will also be livestreamed, and readers may tune in to learn more about the Lancaster epilepsy community, hear from sponsors and see who will take home the prize of Lancaster's top fundraiser.
