Eastern Mennonite Missions (EMM) will host its annual banquet with an option for a takeout "meze" meal for two. The virtual event will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6.
As at every EMM banquet, attendees will have an opportunity to hear stories of God's work around the world, but from the comfort of their home. The theme for the banquet is "Roots of the Past, Steps for the Future."
As part of this event, EMM will feature a "meze on the move," which is a sampling of flavors from countries around the world. This takeout tapas-style dinner for two will include a make-your-own chicken shawarma kit, Middle Eastern hummus with vegetables, Thai mango sticky rice, and some German sweets. Each bag will also include two bottles of Humankind tea or lemonade.
The bags are free, but a limited number will be available. The meze bag is optional, and individuals can watch the banquet online without ordering a bag. To register and/or order a bag, readers may visit http://www.eventbrite.com and search for "EMM banquet to go."
The event will be livestreamed on Facebook, YouTube, and http://www.emm.org. For more details, readers may contact Darlene Sommers at 717-898-2251 or darlene.sommers@emm.org or visit http://www.emm.org/banquet.
