Kreutz Creek Library, 66 Walnut Springs Road, York, has utilized funds donated to it by the Rotary Club of Eastern York County in November 2019 to purchase items for library members to use not only in its current building but also in its anticipated new location in 2021. The funds allowed the library to purchase supplies for children and tweens to enjoy STEM/STEAM activities and creative endeavors. Other purchases will be used for special events and programs for people of all ages.
One addition is an Imagination Station Theatre that gives children the opportunity to tell stories using puppets or, by turning it around, create a grocery store for imaginary food shopping. The Castle Blocks and Royal Kingdom Adventure Castle kits allow children to build a medieval structure as well as to create and act out their own make-believe adventures. For STEAM/STEM activities, a new, shorter Duplo table allows even the smallest Lego enthusiasts to build, and the Playlearn Straws Builder Kits may encourage young engineers in training.
