Manada Conservancy will host an education program titled "Mysterious Creature of Penn's Woods: The Allegheny Woodrat" on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. The program will be held online and is free and open to the public.
The program will feature the Allegheny woodrat, a tiny, reclusive creature that lives in remote rocky habitats in Pennsylvania. Aura Stauffer, DCNR Forestry wildlife biologist, will discuss the natural history of the woodrat as well as efforts to study and conserve this threatened native woodland packrat.
