The third annual Phoenixville Bed Races will be an interactive, virtual event slated for Saturday, Nov. 7. Proceeds will go to Ann's Heart and Good Samaritan Services, two Phoenixville organizations that serve the community's homeless and at-risk individuals.
Teams of four to eight people will decorate beds and don costumes aligned with their bed's theme. They will then promote their entry and raise funds.
Community members may join the live Phoenixville Bed Races event at 11 a.m. on Nov. 7 at http://www.pxvbedraces.org. Each team video will be shown, and information on Ann's Heart and Good Samaritan Services will be shared. At the live event, prizes will be awarded for the best overall theme, the most funds raised, and this year's "race" element - the team with the fastest funds raised during the livestreaming event.
A Kids Challenge has been added to this year's virtual Phoenixville Bed Races. Youths under age 18 have created "shoe box bed" entries and submitted one-minute videos that will be judged for creativity and that will also raise funds for the two nonprofits.
