Elizabethtown Area Senior Center, located in the GEARS Community Center, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown, has posted its schedule. For more information or to make reservations for meals or attendance, readers may call the center at 717-367-7984.
The center is offering grab-and-go lunches. Meals will be cold/frozen and in a heatable tray, and lunches may be picked up at the senior center from 11 a.m. to noon on Mondays through Fridays. Meals must be ordered two days in advance; no walk-ins will be permitted. Donations for lunch will be accepted at the door. Menus are not available.
The senior center is now open with limited hours and limited activities. Reservations are required and must be made two days in advance. No walk-ins will be permitted. Additionally, the computer lab is available, and people may call the center for reservation times.
On weekdays from Thursday, Nov. 5, to Tuesday, Nov. 10, the center will be open from 8:30 a.m. to noon, with the exception of Wednesday, Nov. 11, when it will be closed for Veterans Day. Each day at 9 a.m., coffee, table games, and puzzles will be available. Additional activities, to occur at 10:45 a.m., will be Fall and Winter Safety Tips on Nov. 5; a Bible study on Friday, Nov. 6; a Diabetes Awareness Month activity on Monday, Nov. 9; and Guess the Patriotic Song on Nov. 10.
The senior center, a community service of GEARS, is funded, in part, under an agreement with money allocated by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging and the Lancaster County Office of Aging.
