Kline, English Recognized

Elizabethtown Area High School (EAHS) seniors Hannah Kline and Garrick English were named the Elizabethtown Rotary Club's Students of the Month for December. Kline and English were honored for their high academic achievement, extensive school involvement, and community service activities.

Hannah is the daughter of Denisha Roberts and Chad Kline of Elizabethtown. At EAHS, she earned induction into the National Honor Society. She is Key Club president and Science Club co-president. Hannah sits first chair in the high school orchestra's violin section and was named by the Lancaster-Lebanon Music Educators Association to the County Orchestra. She is a member of the cross-country, track and field, and Science Olympiad teams, as well as the Stock Market Club.

Hannah has earned the AP Scholar award presented by the College Board. She placed second in the T.E.A.M.S. Challenge (Tests of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics, and Science), placed third at Millersville University's Brossman Foundation and Frisbie Science Lectureship Exam, and was a finalist in the Future Engineers Name That Molecule Challenge. Kline also earned Academic Excellence Awards in numerous subjects.

In the community, Hannah volunteers at Brittany's Hope helping to coordinate and plan the Walk of Love fundraiser. She is also involved with the Donegal Youth Soccer Lightning and the Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Sciences programs. Hannah is an active member of St. Peter's Catholic Church of Elizabethtown.

She plans to attend a four-year college to major in biophysics with the ultimate goal of earning a doctorate in the field and securing a job as a medical researcher.

Garrick is the son of Rodney and Laura English of Elizabethtown. He earned AP Scholar recognition from the College Board. He was the North Museum Science Fair Grand Champion and won the Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award. He also won numerous awards in the Science Olympiad competition.

Garrick is a member of the high school's cross-country and Science Olympiad teams.

He has volunteered in support of numerous environmental projects. He is an active member of Christ Lutheran Church, where he takes part in the Fish and Loaves ministry.

Garrick plans to attend a four-year college and eventually earn a doctorate in quantum physics or cosmology.
