Little Dippers Ice Cream, 432 W. Main St., Mount Joy, located next to the Mount Joy Car Wash, is now open mornings serving coffee at its drive-through window. Drive-through service is available daily from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Little Dippers Coffee offers fresh-brewed coffee and espresso beverages, including lattes, macchiatos, Americanos, cappuccinos and frappes. Also offered is chai, which can be served hot or cold. There is also a variety of hot tea and an iced tea blend as well. The cold brew coffee is brewed for 20 hours with a blend that accentuates its Guatemalan origin.
The coffee is sourced and roasted by a long established roaster in Lancaster County and one of the oldest in Pennsylvania, which is still locally owned and operated in the county. The coffee company was one of the first to be Fair Trade Certified and Fair Trade Organic in the area. Little Dippers uses one of its organic blends of espresso beans that are carefully roasted for all of its regular and decaf beverages.
Little Dippers also offers a wide range of frappes that can be made with or without espresso, so it is perfect for those who want a little treat without the caffeine. There is also a frozen hot chocolate that is perfect for children or for the young at heart.
More than 20 flavor shots are available to be used in any combination in all of the beverages from lattes to Americanos to frappes. Also offered are a few sugar-free flavors and a vegan chocolate syrup. Little Dippers provides non-dairy alternatives, including almond, oat and soy, at no extra charge.
Muffins and fresh-baked Amish doughnuts from Lancaster are served daily.
Although ice cream is not currently available during the coffee hours, Little Dippers offers an affogato, which is a shot of espresso over hand-dipped vanilla ice cream.
Little Dippers Ice Cream decided to keep its ice cream services open this winter for the first time, allowing customers to purchase ice cream, shakes, banana splits and blend-ins all winter long. Ice cream hours are 4 to 9 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays and 2 to 9 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
