Abuse Prevention Workshops Posted

Safe Communities of Lancaster will hold three free Child Sexual Abuse Prevention 101 workshops in March. The workshops will be held on Wednesday, March 3, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. for pastors and faith leaders; on Wednesday, March 17, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. for organizational leaders; and on Wednesday, March 31, from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. for parents.

The workshops will define child abuse, identify risk factors, define offenders, share how to recognize sexual abuse, explain the basics of mandated reporting and more. Each presentation will be tailored to issues the particular audiences face.

There is no cost to attend. Funding has been provided by the LMC Legacy Foundation and the Lancaster Osteopathic Health Foundation. Readers may register at http://www.safecommunitiespa.org to automatically receive a Zoom link by email.

Organizations and faith communities may also schedule grant-sponsored presentations on their own schedule for their staff and constituents. More information on training, as well as on retreats and virtual Circle of Hope psycho-educational support groups for survivors, is available at the aforementioned website or by calling 717-560-9989.
