Lititz Public Library has announced several activities that will take place in March.
Children are invited to look at the "I Spy" window on the front door of the library, 651 Kissel Hill Road, whenever they stop by to pick up holds. There will be new items to look for each week.
Winter Zoom Story Time with Miss Shannon is being held at 10 a.m. every Monday and Wednesday for children of all ages. Caretakers should email srichard@lititzlibrary.org to receive the Zoom link each week, and they should specify their preferred day of the week, along with their child's name and age.
Nutritionists from Giant will offer various programs via Zoom, with free tickets available at http://www.thegiantcompanynutritionists.eventbrite.com. Among the programs are several activities specifically for adults, with more information available at the aforementioned website.
In three of the programs, participants will be directed in making a healthy snack. These livestreamed activities will be Mini Chef Mornings, recommended for children age 6 and under, every Monday at 10:30 a.m.; Junior Chef Creations, for youths ages 7 to 18, every Wednesday at 4 p.m.; and Snack-Crafting, for people of all ages, every Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
The library will offer several programs for adults in March.
Grab & Go Craft Kits will be available, with one per person, while supplies last. On Saturday, March 6, the kit will be Mini Zen Gardens, and on Wednesday, March 17, the kit will be Pot O' Gold.
A prerecorded concert by Fire in the Glen will be available to view for free from March 17 through Wednesday, March 31. A link to the concert will be posted at http://www.lititzlibrary.org.
A program from the National Library of Medicine will be livestreamed on Thursday, March 11, at 3 p.m. Readers may visit https://youtu.be/PJBzdgCTn2E or search for "NNLM Pacific NW Region" on Facebook to tune in. During this program, genetic cancer experts Amy Byer Shainman and Ellen Matloff will share their stories and knowledge and answer audience members' questions.
Library patrons are invited to view an online book talk with author Charles Fergus, hosted by the J. Lewis Crozer Library in Chester on Thursday, March 18, at 6:30 p.m. Fergus has written several nonfiction books about Pennsylvania flora, and he recently released a new mystery series that is set in Pennsylvania in the 1830s and features a young Pennsylvania Dutch sheriff. The Museum of American Revolution will offer a virtual program exploring its exhibition "When Women Lost the Vote: A Revolutionary Story, 1776-1807" on Thursday, March 25, at 7 p.m. Viewers of the virtual talk, "When Women Lost the Vote," will learn the little-known history of the nation's first woman voters and get a virtual peek at artifacts that tell their stories. This experience includes a question-and-answer session. Registration is required by emailing register@lititzlibrary.org, calling 717-626-2255, or stopping by the library. The program is limited to 30 people, and registration will begin on Monday, March 1. Once registered, community members will receive a Zoom link for the program.
