Community Calendar

The Community Calendar is a weekly feature of the Community Courier.

Local clubs, civic organizations, nonprofit agencies, schools, etc., that would like to have events or meeting date information published, should contact the Community Courier in writing at least two weeks before the event. No items will be accepted over the phone.

Cancer Support Group

A cancer support group will be held on Thursday, March 18, at 7 p.m. at the Conestoga Mennonite Church, 2779 Main St., Morgantown. The meeting is open to anyone who has ever been diagnosed with any form of cancer past or present. For more information, contact Cheryl at 610-762-0002 or csgcmc@ptd.net.

Sewing With Nancy

Sewing With Ms. Nancy will return in person starting on Friday, March 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Honey Brook Community Library and the program will run every Friday. Ms. Nancy will be available to help attendees with their basic sewing skills or attendees may choose a pattern or project from the library's many sewing books. Five sewing machines are available at the library or people may bring their own.

Chicken Barbecue

A chicken barbecue dinner fundraiser will be held on Saturday, March 20, at Weaverland Anabaptist Faith Community, 210 Weaverland Valley Road, East Earl, and Yoder's, 14 S. Tower Road, New Holland, to benefit Miriam and Darryl Weaver, missionaries serving with EMM in Germany. Dinners will be available for purchase from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The cost of a meal will include a half-chicken, coleslaw, applesauce, a cookie, and a beverage. For details, readers may search for "Weaver Family Outreach in Germany" on Facebook.

Turkey Supper

Caernarvon Fire Company, 2145 Main St., Churchtown, will host a drive-through turkey supper on Saturday, March 20. Dinners will be available for pickup only from 1 p.m. until sold out. Gates will open at 12:45 p.m.

Zoom Story Time

Neighbors Meeting

Neighbors Caring and Sharing, a Christian women's group that meets weekly at Conestoga Mennonite Church in Morgantown, will meet on Tuesday, March 23, from 9:15 to 11 a.m. The group will continue its discussion of the DVD Bible study series by Priscilla Shirer, "Armor of God." The topic will be "The Word of Truth."

Shepherd's Pie Dinner

The Hay Creek Valley Historical Association will hold a chicken pot pie and chili sale on Thursday, March 25, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at historic Joanna Furnace, 1250 Furnace Road, Geigertown. A fee will be charged per quart. All orders must be received by Saturday, March 20. Orders can be placed by credit card at http://www.haycreek.org/food-raiser.
