Library Event Calendar Posted

Kreutz Creek Library, 66 Walnut Springs Road, York, will offer a variety of virtual programs to the community. Programs are free, but preregistration is required for most programs and to receive links to participate. For details and registration, visit http://www.yorklibraries.org/events/2021-04.

The State Library of Pennsylvania will present a virtual author event featuring Phaedra Patrick, author of "The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper," the One Book, One Community 2021 selection. The event will begin at noon on Wednesday, April 7, and Patrick will participate from her home in England. Registrants should send their name and the name of the event to ra-edmakerspace@pa.gov in order to receive a secure link to participate in this free event via Zoom.

A National Library Week book discussion about "The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald will be held on Monday, April 12, at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom.

Sensory Story Time, open to children ages 2 to 5, will be offered through Zoom on Thursday, April 15, at 10 a.m. The program will feature interactive book-based experiences, music, playtime, and socialization for the whole family.

Monday Evening Family Story Times will take place on Zoom on Mondays through April 26 at 6:30 p.m. Miss Kelly from Guthrie Memorial Library will host.

Miss Felicia's Story Time at Flinchbaugh's Orchard & Farm Market will take place on Mondays through April 26 from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Story times will be held under the pavilion at the orchard, 110 Ducktown Road, Hellam, rain or shine. Participants should wear face coverings and follow social distancing guidelines.

Two children's story times will be offered on Facebook. Digital Babies & Toddlers Story Time, designed for babies and children through age 3, will be offered on Tuesdays, April 20 to May 11. Digital Preschool Story Times, open to children ages 3 to 5, will be held on Wednesdays, April 21 to May 12. On Facebook, search for @KreutzCreekLibrary or @YorkCountyLibraries to enjoy a new, recorded story time video, which will become available at 10 a.m.

Tween programs will be offered to youths ages 9 to 12 via Zoom on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. On April 13, the Danger Club will meet, followed by the Library Squad on April 27.

Susquehanna Folk Society and York County Libraries will present Bill and the Belles on Saturday, April 17, from 2 to 3 p.m. The group puts its own spin on music of the 1920s to 1940s. This performance will conclude the library's Gatsby-themed events. Registration is available at http://www.sfmsfolk.org/concerts/BillBelles.html.

The Friends of KCL will host a spring used book sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, April 23, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 24. The sale will be held in the Public Works building across from the library. Face coverings are required to attend.

Virtual Zoom Into History - Getting Started in Genealogy will be offered on April 26 at 6:30 p.m. Participants will be introduced to the who, what, when, where, why, and how of researching one's family.

Murder at the Library, a virtual author event, will take place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28. The selection for April is "The Mystery of Mrs. Christie" by Marie Benedict. Registration is available at https://tinyurl.com/ysnyeeyy.
