Community Calendar

The Community Calendar is a weekly feature of the Community Courier.

Local clubs, civic organizations, nonprofit agencies, schools, etc., that would like to have events or meeting date information published should contact the Community Courier in writing at least two weeks before the event. Church Activities

Mount Carmel United Methodist Church - St. Peters, 2203 Harmonyville Road, Pottstown, will offer a Woman's Virtual Coffee on Wednesday, April 14 (and every Wednesday), at 10 a.m. Judy Turner is the host. To join, visit http://www.mountcarmelumc.org and click on "Virtual Coffee" on any Wednesday morning.

The church is also planning a community garden in early May, which will be available to all. Those who are interested in a plot for growing should call the church at 610-469-9151.

Anyone in need of prayers may visit the church website and click on "Prayer Request."

Support Group

A cancer support group will meet on Thursday, April 15, at 7 p.m. at Conestoga Mennonite Church, 2779 Main St., (Route 23), Morgantown. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month.

The group is open to people age 18 and over who have cancer or had cancer in the past. For more information, contact Cheryl at csgcmc@ptd.net or 610-762-0002.

Men's Breakfast

Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, St. Peters, 2203 Harmonyville Road, Pottstown, will hold a virtual men's breakfast on Saturday April 17, from 8 to 9 a.m. To participate, visit http://www.mountcarmelumc.org and click on "Men's Breakfast." Participants should have their breakfasts ready to eat.

Neighbors Meeting

Neighbors Caring and Sharing, a Christian women's group that meets weekly at Conestoga Mennonite Church in Morgantown, will meet on Tuesday, April 20, beginning at 9:15 a.m. Featured will be a spring tea. For more information, contact Tina Essick at tina.m.essick@gmail.com

Online Support Group

The Heritage of Green Hills, a healthy lifeplan community in Shillington, will host its April support group for caregivers of individuals suffering from dementia, as well as other debilitating diseases, via phone and/or online on Wednesday, April 21.

The monthly caregiver support groups take place on the third Wednesday of each month from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Held in conjunction with the Alzheimer's Association Delaware Valley Chapter, the sessions are free and open to the public. Participants may attend virtually or via phone only.

Jazz Concert

Honey Brook Community Library, 687 Compass Road (Route 10), Honey Brook, will present an evening of jazz music featuring the Pequea Valley High School Jazz Ensemble on Thursday, April 22, at 7 p.m. The rain date is Thursday, April 29.

The concert will be an outdoor event located in the library pavilion and front yard. Attendees should bring their own lawn chairs. Everyone must wear masks and practice social distancing.
