Story Marks Returns

Before COVID-19 restrictions were enacted in March of 2020, a group of women was holding a monthly event called Story Marks. Story Marks focused on ladies gathering together for friendship and networking opportunities. Attendees also heard stories from women who have had experiences that others can learn from.

This April, the first live and in-person Story Marks session in more than a year was held. Organizer Tracey Strohecker called the evening "amazing." Strohecker had an agenda prepared for the evening, but as she looked around at the gathering of 20, she decided to take a slightly different course. "I happened to say, 'Why don't we go around and introduce ourselves and say a little something?'" she recalled. "It turned into a safe place to talk, and they began sharing. It was a small, intimate group, and it was really nice."

This month's Story Marks will be held on Thursday, May 20, at 6:30 p.m. at Thorn Hill Vineyards, 1945 Fruitville Pike, Lancaster.

The featured speaker at the May event will be local leader and coach Gwen Schuit. Schuit has a nursing background, and she is currently CEO of Friendship Community. She will speak about the ability to "Flex, Adapt, Shift, and Influence!"

The opening speaker will be Kathy Burkhardt, who will share her story of how she was influenced and how she has moved forward as an influencer.

Registration is required to attend, and women may register by searching for "Story Marks Lancaster" at http://www.eventbrite.com. There is a nominal fee to attend. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and Strohecker invites women to come early and socialize. Readers who have questions may call or text 717-341-4444 or email Tracey.Strohecker@cbhomes.com.
