Hinkletown Mennonite School (HMS) held its 10th annual Networking Breakfast on April 8 at Woodcrest Retreat in Ephrata. More than 60 Lancaster County business leaders attended.
Nathan Mellor, a two-time TEDx speaker, an author, and president of Strata Leadership, invited business leaders to focus on a growth mindset. Mellor said that this type of mindset not only helps people to view obstacles as opportunities, but also opens doors to helping others along the way.
The HMS Networking Breakfast is an opportunity for local business leaders and entrepreneurs to connect and for the school to express gratitude for the community-building work of local businesses. Woodcrest Retreat partnered with HMS this year, welcoming guests in its new Indian Rock Center and offering tours of the camp facilities and grounds.
HMS high school students joined business leaders at the breakfast. HMS offers a nontraditional high school, the HMS Venture Program, which focuses on helping students to develop their vocational plans through community connections, job shadowing, and internships throughout their high school years.
Mellor also engaged with leaders from sponsors Brubacher Inc., Esbenshade's Garden Centers, and Zook Interiors in a post-breakfast workshop.
Hinkletown Mennonite School is located 4 miles from Ephrata and New Holland and is in its 40th year of partnering with families in these areas and beyond. HMS serves over 220 students from prekindergarten through high school with Christ-centered, child-focused education. For more information, visit http://www.hinkletownschool.org.
