Four Conestoga Valley High School (CVHS) student-athletes have committed to playing their respective sports after graduation from CVHS. They were recognized in a ceremony on May 19.
The student-athletes are Owen Linder, track and field, Lebanon Valley College; Olivia Mellinger, softball, Messiah University; Karli Raasch, swimming and diving, Saginaw State University; and Adam Yoder, soccer, University of Pittsburgh.
Linder is the son of Eric and Laura Linder. He was a four-year member of the CV track and field and boys' soccer teams. Linder served as team captain of the boys' track and field team this year and qualified for the league championship meet three times over the course of his career. He won a league championship title in the 4x100 relay this spring and competed at the district championship. Linder is a distinguished honor roll student and a member of the Science National Honor Society. He intends to major in accounting.
Mellinger, the daughter of Jared and Michelle Mellinger, was a four-year starter at shortstop and outfield for the Buckskins. Mellinger was named a Lancaster-Lebanon (L-L) League All-Star in 2019. She also competed on a travel softball team. In addition to being a distinguished honor roll student, Mellinger is a member of the National Honor Society and the Tri-M Music Honor Society. She is also active in Student Council, the Valley Vocals, choir, Link Crew, and youth group. Mellinger intends to study nursing.
Raasch is the daughter of Barb and Matt Raasch. She was a four-year member of the Buckskins' swim team and holds eight program records. She was an Honorable Mention All-State in 2018 and 2019 and won CV's Team High Point Award three of her four years. Raasch was also a three-time L-L All-Star and was named the 2019 L-L League Most Valuable Swimmer. In addition to her swimming accomplishments, Raash served as a Link Crew member and was active in the mentor program.
Yoder is the son of Randall and Susan Yoder. He was a four-year member of CV's soccer team and a three-year member of the basketball and volleyball teams. He served as team captain for the boys' soccer team in 2020, and his teams earned a berth to the district playoffs each of his four years. In addition, the Buckskins' volleyball team earned a spot in either the district or league playoffs each of his three years. Yoder is an honor roll student and National Honor Society member. He was also active in FCA's Leadership Council and was a member of SADD and the Student Health Council. Yoder intends to major in psychology.
