Penn State Extension will offer two virtual 4-H programs to the community. The events are free to current 4-H members, with a fee for nonmembers.
Youths ages 8 to 18 as of Jan. 1 are invited to learn some new recipes and art styles in a virtual 4-H Summer Day Camp. Opportunities for learning about and making Pennsylvania Dutch foods and folk art, such as tole painting, quilting, and Fraktur writing, will be featured. The camp will run from 1 to 3 p.m. on Monday, June 28, through Thursday, July 1. Registration will end on Friday, June 11. Register at https://extension.psu.edu/4-h/folk-art.
A virtual 4-H Babysitting Special Interest Club (SPIN Club) will meet from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 6, through Friday, July 9. The club is designed to help prepare youths age 11 and older for babysitting. Each participant will learn characteristics and needs of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers; safety and basic first aid; and other topics related to caring for someone else's child and for oneself when home alone.
