York County Solid Waste Authority (YCSWA) will offer several free programs this summer.
Three programs are available for presentation in person or virtually. In Recycled Paper, participants make their own recycled paper. Worm Composting shows attendees how to make a worm bin to compost food scraps, and Waste-to-Energy explains how the YCSWA turns garbage into electricity.
Community members can also learn about YCSWA's waste-to-energy program through an in-person tour of the York County Resource Recovery Center and Education Center.
Tours of the Hopewell Area Recreation Complex are also offered. Attendees learn how YCSWA turned York County's closed landfill into a public park.
