Lancaster County 4-H and Bethel, Alaska 4-H will offer "Art Across America," a cross-country art experience and cultural exchange. This virtual art camp will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Thursday, July 8, to Thursday, Aug. 5.
Through hands-on painting and sculpture activities, youths age 8 and up as of Jan. 1 will explore their own cultures and others' cultures. Participants will learn about traditional art from the Yup'ik nation in Alaska and the Pennsylvania Dutch in Lancaster County, as well as contemporary art from each area.
The camp is free for current 4-H members, with a fee for nonmembers. To register by Thursday, July 1, or for more information, email Patti Van Brederode at pev3@psu.edu or call the Lancaster County Extension Office at 717-394-6851. Participants will receive an email providing a list of needed supplies, most of which can be found easily at home.
A parent or a responsible adult is requested to participate with registered youths to help with computer technology and activities.
