Celebrating Solanco Seniors

Only hours before graduating, 245 seniors from Solanco High School (SHS) participated in the annual tradition of the Cap and Gown Walk on June 11. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Class of 2020 had been unable to participate in the tradition, but the Class of 2021 was pleased to be able to take part.

Dressed in their caps and gowns, SHS seniors visited Solanco elementary and middle schools and the administration office, where students and staff greeted them with rousing cheers, handmade signs of congratulations, and a performance of "Pomp and Circumstance."

Many elementary and middle school students said they were inspired by the Cap and Gown Walk. Many of the seniors noted that they enjoyed their interaction with the younger students and appreciated visiting the elementary and middle schools they had attended before high school.
