Programs, Exhibit To Focus On Housing

The Arts at Millersville's "We The People" First Friday initative will host the second installment in its "Home Is Here: Affordable Housing Art Exhibit and 2-Part Speaker Series" at the Ware Center, 42 N. Prince St., Lancaster. Presented by Global Shapers Lancaster Hub, the series and exhibit are free and open to the public, but tickets are required to gauge capacity.

The upcoming discussion, Future of Affordable Housing, will take place on Friday, July 9, at 6:30 p.m. in Steinman Hall. It will be a panel discussion hosted in partnership with the Millersville University School of Social Work and will address the question, "Now that we know about the affordable housing crisis, where do we go from here?"

The art exhibit will be on display in the Lyet Lobby through Friday, July 30. It may be viewed on most days from Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The exhibit features local artists who, through art and discussion, will share their experiences with affordable housing. Participating artists include Salina Almanzar, Kaya Hobbs, Keisha Finnie, Darcey Barraclough, feemaleartist (fee dominquez), Lunga Bechtel, Krissy Whiski, and Madeleine Murphy.

The events are free. To register for the discussion, search for "Future of Affordable Housing Panel" on http://www.eventbrite.com.
