Milanof-Schock Library, 1184 Anderson Ferry Road, Mount Joy, has posted its upcoming programs. Unless otherwise noted, all programs are free and require registration by visiting http://www.mslibrary.org or calling 717-653-1510. Community members may visit the aforementioned website for updates about mask-wearing at the library.
The library has announced that its annual benefit auction will be held on Saturday, Aug. 28.
The Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank's Blood Mobile will be at the library on Saturday, July 17, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome, but donors with appointments will be taken first. Masks are required and will be provided for donors who do not have one. A form of ID is required. A variety of programs will be available to children, youths and families. These programs will be held outside, weather permitting.
People of all ages may pick up a Milanof-Schock Mile punch card at the library and have a library staff member mark their card each time you walk the mile route. Rewards are available after 10 punches.
Elementary school children age 8 and up may bring a lunch and the book they are reading to Lunch Bunch on Tuesdays, July 20 and 27. Family Story Time will be held on Wednesdays, July 14, 21 and 28, at 10:30 a.m.
People of all ages are invited to Forgotten Friends Reptiles With Jesse on Thursday, July 15, at 10:30 a.m. They may also bring blankets and flashlights to the library for Fun Fort Friday on July 16 at 5 p.m.
Jeff Boyer's Big Bubble Bonanza will take place on Monday, July 19, at 10:30 a.m. The sensory-friendly family program by world record-holder Jeff Boyer mixes comedy, music and interactive bubble magic.
At Art in the Park, children age 7 and up can create a piece of art using inspiration from a featured artist and media style. The class will be held on July 19 at 1 p.m.
Fun Family Book Bingo will take place on July 20 at 6 p.m.
Lancaster Parks & Rec Dino Days & More! will explore the adaptations of dinosaurs and how those adaptations helped them survive. The program will take place on Thursday, July 22, at 10:30 a.m. in fair weather only. It is open to people of all ages.
Sidewalk Chalk Art, for people of all ages, will be held on Monday, July 26, from 10 a.m. to noon, weather permitting.
ZooAmerica will bring some of its ambassador animals to the library on Thursday, July 29, at 10:30 a.m. The program, for people of all ages, will feature several books starring these species.
Youths ages 12 to 19 may participate in the virtual Teen Zine Tuesday featuring Jenni Walsh on July 20 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. A Classic Teen Anime Movie Night celebrating the 20th anniversary of "Spirited Away" will take place at the library on July 17 at 6 p.m.
Programs for adults include the Olympic-themed Summer Reading Activity, which will continue through Friday, Aug. 27.
Interest groups include Closely Knit, for knitters and crocheters, on Monday, July 26, at 1 p.m., with no registration necessary; Joyful Stitchers Cross-Stitch Club on July 17 from 9:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.; and A Gathering of Artists Club on July 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. Also, the Northwest Book Club will discuss "The Couple Next Door" by Shari Lapena on July 14 at 6 p.m.
The library will offer Make-It Monday - Carving with Dave Schell on July 26 at 6 p.m. It is for teens and adults. Schell will teach participants the basics of carving using a bar of soap and plastic knives.
Medicare Questions Answered will be presented on July 28 at 6 p.m. by Julie Meyers, a licensed agent specializing in Medicare. The program is for teens and adults.
The Friends will not have a meeting in July. They will gather next on Monday, Aug. 9, at 6:30 p.m.
