Three tournaments will be held at the Elizabethtown Fair on Saturday, Aug. 28.
The horseshoe pitch tournament will begin at 10 a.m. Premiums will be awarded for men's singles at 40 feet, men's doubles at 40 feet, women's and youth's singles at 40 feet, women's and youth's doubles at 30 feet, and senior singles at 30 feet. Participants in the youth division may be no older than 18. Senior singles will include men and women age 65 and older. Up to four double elimination horseshoe tournaments will be held. Horseshoes will be supplied by the fair, or shooters may use their own. National Horseshoe Pitchers Association (NHPA) rules will apply, except as specified by Elizabethtown Fair officials. A buck shot tournament sponsored by Moo Duck Brewery will be held at 3 p.m. on stage 2. It is open to youths and adults. The youth division is for people ages 6 to 18. For details, call Mike at 570-242-5658.
The cornhole tournament, for teams of two people, will begin at 4 p.m. Boards and bags will be supplied by the fair, but participants may bring their own bags. There is an entry fee.
