The Hershey Lions Club recently recognized members with awards for their many years of dedicated service to the club and community. Honorees received recognition at a club meeting in June.
David Crist received the Lion of the Year award. Crist is the Hershey Lions Club's secretary. In addition to his outstanding service, loyalty, and devotion to Lionism, he can often be counted upon for adding humor to his secretary reports.
Receiving Melvin Jones Fellowships were Chuck Frank and Cliff Passuello, both of whom have long tenures with the Hershey Lions Club. Frank has also managed the club's eyeglass collection effort, and Passuello has served as zone chair of Lions District 14T. The Melvin Jones Fellowship award is the backbone of the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), the procurement of which is a contribution to humanity and to the legacy of the organization's founder, Melvin Jones.
The club also recognized Bart Callear with the Immediate Past President award. Callear served as club president from 2018 to 2020. Current club president Steve Gallerizzo presented the award.
The Hershey Lions Club hopes to resume in-person meetings in the near future. Lions clubs are groups of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs. For more information, visit http://www.hersheylions.org.
