Susquehanna Stage will present "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)" on select dates from Friday, Sept. 10, to Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Marietta Center for the Arts, 133 W. Market St., Marietta.
Written by Adam Long, Daniel Singer, and Jess Winfield and directed by Kevin Ditzler, the play parodies all of William Shakespeare's comedies, histories, and tragedies. Shakespeare's plays are performed in comically shortened or merged form by only three actors: Alexander P. Bannon, Madeline Ruth Pickens, and Timothy Riggs. "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)" is known as London's longest-running comedy, having been presented in the West End's Criterion Theatre for nine years.
The show is suitable for people of all ages, but the final performance will be geared toward an adult audience, with wine and beer served.
The show is sponsored by Mary Gildea, in memory of Chuck Weyland.
Separate ticket prices have been set for adults and for students under 18. To purchase tickets, visit http://www.susquehannastage.com.
