Parade Welcomes Entry Applications

The 24th annual Millersville Parade is accepting entry applications for this year's event, which has the theme "Hometown Heroes." Applications will be accepted through Monday, Sept. 27. The parade will be held on Saturday, Oct. 16, at 8:30 a.m., and organizers anticipate that the crowd will number over 15,000 spectators.

The 2-mile parade attracts over 2,000 participants and includes bands, twirlers, fire and emergency apparatus, floats, antique cars, student and community groups, inflatable characters and more. The parade begins at Penn Manor High School and starts marching at the intersection of Cottage and Herr avenues. It marches on Herr Avenue, turns left onto Landis Avenue and turns left again onto North George Street. It then proceeds down George Street to Millersville University's Student Memorial Center, where it turns left onto James Street. The parade ends in the James Street parking areas.

For a parade entry application, call the Millersville University Office of Community Engagement at 717-871-5742 or visit http://www.parade.millersville.edu. Entries are free and open to the public, except for business entities and political candidates, which are charged a fee.
