Church Plans Remembrance Service

Mountville Church of the Brethren, 60 Clay St., Mountville, will host a Wave of Light Service of Remembrance on Friday, Oct. 15, at 6:45 p.m. The purpose of this reflective service is to provide comfort to those grieving pregnancy and infant loss, and it is part of a worldwide effort to bring awareness, remembrance, and hope to women whose pregnancy ends in loss.

Each year, on Oct. 15, people all over the world light candles at 7 p.m. local time, causing a glow of light for the entire day across the globe to remember those who were never born, were born still, or only lived for a moment, as well as to bring comfort to their families.

This event is open to the public, and attendees' losses do not have be recent. Nursery care will be available for children from birth through age 3. Masks are recommended.
