Open Hive Day Slated

Oct 16, 2021 - 10:00 am

The Land Conservancy for Southern Chester County and Brandywine Bee Company will co-host Open Hive Day on Saturday, Oct. 16, from 10 a.m. to noon at New Leaf Sensory Garden, 776 Rosedale Road, Kennett Square. Attendees will learn about bee colonies, different bee types in the colony, bee life, and what to do at home to support and protect these important pollinators.

Apiarist Michael Langer of Brandywine Bee Company will give an inside look at the busy world of honeybees. The program will offer adults and families the opportunity to get up close to a hive during a routine inspection and expand their practical beekeeping knowledge. Protective gear will be provided.

There is a fee to participate. To register, visit http://www.tlcforscc.org/events. For additional information, contact Carl Hutchinson at stewardshipmgr@tlcforscc.org.
