Intricate pen-based drawings and pour art created by 17-year-old self-taught artist Joe Roach will be on display at Bob Swayne Real Estate, 17 S. Main St., Manheim. The J.J. Roach art exhibit and sale will be held on Thursday, Nov. 4, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Roach has been diagnosed with ADHD and autism. He began drawing at age 13 as a way to channel his emotions. His pen-based drawings are characterized by intricate shapes, and many drawings are inspired by the Fibonacci sequence. He also creates abstract pour art using oil-based paint. Roach often draws upon outer space and the galaxy as inspiration for his art.
