Dewald Funeral & Cremation Services is partnering with Quarryville Elementary School again this year to fill a need in the community. During November, Dewald is collecting new and gently used sneakers and new socks to be distributed by the guidance counselor at the elementary school.
Last year, the funeral home hosted a coat drive, and the community donated over 140 coats for Solanco elementary schools. The initiative provided enough coats for both last year and this year.
There will be a collection box in the foyer of the main entrance to the side of the funeral home, 227 W. Fourth St., Quarryville. Community members may drop off donations of sneakers and socks during normal business hours.
