Lampeter-Strasburg High School (LSHS) faculty applauded two seniors and two juniors for their achievements in October. The Pioneer Superlatives were Hollyn Miller and Isaac Horst, and the Students of the Month were Rylie Harsh and Micah Hilliker.
Hollyn is a senior and the daughter of Brian and Heather Miller of Lancaster. At LSHS, she is a member of the concert choir, Tri-M Music Honor Society, Madrigals, orchestra, distinguished honor roll, National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Pioneer Interact Club, Thespian Society, Varsity Club, spring musical cast, and cross-country team. Hollyn has successfully auditioned for county, district, and state-level PMEA choirs. Outside of school, she attends youth group at Blossom Hill Mennonite Church and takes voice lessons at Weiand Vocal Studio. She plans to attend college to possibly major in art education or art therapy.
Isaac is a junior and the son of Steve and Dawn Horst of Lancaster. His school activities include Pioneer Interact Club, Student Council, Ski and Snowboard Club, and Spanish Club. A distinguished honor roll member, he is among the juniors who will be inducted into National Honor Society this school year. Outside of school, Isaac volunteers with KPETS Therapy Services and attends youth group. Isaac plans to attend college to study chemical and biomolecular engineering.
Rylie is a junior and the daughter of Steven Harsh of Strasburg and Mandy Harsh. She is a member of the LSHS Art Club. Rylie has been an honor roll student and an eighth-grade Student of the Month at Martin Meylin Middle School. She plans to pursue a career as a mechanic.
Micah is a senior and the son of Michelle Hilliker of Strasburg. At school, he is involved in job training and enjoys academic and physical education classes. He plans to pursue a career in law enforcement.
