Committee Seeks Input

The Manheim Township Police Advisory Committee held its first meeting in December 2020. This citizens' group was created to review research, analyze, discuss, and make recommendations to the board of commissioners on policing practices, policies and funding within the township. The committee was established as a way of maintaining and improving the overall quality of life in the township, and a significant part of the committee's role is to strengthen the connections between the police and the community.

The committee understands its role to be one of support for the Manheim Township Police and to provide counsel to the police and commissioners on matters of policy, practices, and funding. The committee will not be involved in the daily matters of policing.

The committee welcomes input from citizens and invites attendance at its meetings. Meetings are usually held on the third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. at Manheim Township Public Library, 595 Granite Run Drive, Lancaster.
