The Short Line Model Railroad Club, 11 S. State St., Ephrata, will host open houses on Saturdays and Sundays through Sunday, Jan. 16, featuring its holiday train display. The open houses will run from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday open house events will not take place on Christmas, Dec. 25, or New Year's Day, Jan. 1.
Visitors will be able to view miniature trains rolling through the detailed scenery representative of northeastern Pennsylvania on a more than 900-foot double tracked main line and a 75-foot single tracked branch line. Many of the model locomotives feature realistic steam and diesel sounds and are controlled by wireless digital controllers.
Masks will be required for all attendees. The entrance is located at the rear of the building. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted. For more information about the open houses, contact the club at show@slmrc.com.
Members of the club will be available to offer advice and answer questions. All phases of construction will be on display, with various types of layout construction represented. To learn more about the club, visit http://www.slmrc.com.
