Railroading Merit Badge Workshop Set

The Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania will offer a virtual railroading merit badge workshop on Saturday, Jan. 15, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Designed for individual boys and girls ages 11 to 17, this is a special opportunity for Scouts who live both near to and far from the museum to learn through the virtual use of the museum's images and artifacts and model trains. The workshop also includes behind-the-scenes tours of historic equipment like the GP30 locomotive No. 2233 and the H&BT caboose No. 16.

All requirements will be fulfilled on the day of the workshop, except for the at-home requirement, which must be done by participants at a separate time. Advance registration is required; to register, visit http://www.eventbrite.com and search for "Railroading Merit Badge Workshop." Spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis. There is a fee for one Scout and an adult, with a discount for an additional Scout.
