The Torch Community Center, located in the Clock Tower Plaza, 2846 Main St., Morgantown, has announced upcoming programs for January and February. All programs are open to the public.
Worship and Prayer Tuesdays will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays through Feb. 22. Pizza and Karaoke Nights will be offered at 6 p.m. on Thursdays through Feb. 24.
The following speakers will be featured on Fridays in January and February from 7 to 9 p.m.: Jan. 14, evangelist Tracey Weiss; Jan. 21, pastor David and Yolanda Williams; Jan. 28, Nancy Miller; Feb. 4, evangelist Vijay; Feb. 11, Lee Schappell; Feb. 18, pastor Ramon Torres; and Feb. 25, Bryan and Kerstin Levengood.
A Christian acoustic open mic night will be hosted by the Roland Zimmerman Family on Sunday, Feb. 7. Musician signups will begin at 6:30 p.m., and performances will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Those interested in performing during open mic nights may visit http://www.facebook.com/ChristianOpenMic for complete details.
The Torch will be closed on Saturdays in January and February with the exception of special meetings.
Visitors to The Torch can enjoy fellowship and fun. The facility includes a pool table, a small kitchen area, a stage for performers, coffeehouse-style booths and sofas designed for conversation and a library featuring books for both adults and children.
Additionally, TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly), a nonprofit weight loss support group, meets on Tuesdays from 8:45 to 10 a.m. at The Torch.
