Manheim Central Students Recognized

Ezekiel Ruffner and Madison Kreider have been selected as February's Seniors of the Month at Manheim Central High School (MCHS). The Manheim Women's Club sponsors the Girls of the Month, and both Students of the Month are sponsored by the Rotary Club of Manheim. Students are chosen by the professional staff of the high school based on academic achievement, character and involvement within the school and community.

Ezekiel, 18, is the son of Jeanna Ruffner and Matthew Ruffner of Manheim. He is a member of the cross-country and track teams, marching band, German Club, and German Honor Society. He is also active in Manheim Central Baron Stage. Ezekiel serves as a youth leader for seventh-grade boys at Manheim Brethren in Christ Church. Over the summer, he is a counselor at a camp called CRC. He plans to attend a Christian college with the goal of becoming a youth pastor.

Madison, 17, is the daughter Christy and Robert Kreider of Manheim. She has been a member of the Manheim Central marching band since eighth grade, serving as a section leader in her junior year and a drum major in her senior year. She has also taken part in Baron Stage productions since her freshman year. Her roles this school year are Marilla Cuthbert in "Anne of Green Gables" and Dorothy in "The Wizard of Oz." Madison has taken part in Student Council since her freshman year, serving as secretary as a junior and now as co-president. She is secretary of the Inclusion and Diversity club, historian in the German Club, vice president of Thespian Honor Society and secretary of Rho Kappa Honor Society. She is a member of Tri-M Music Honor Society, Rho Kappa Honor Society, English Honor Society, German Honor Society, and National Honor Society.

Outside of school, Madison has attended dance classes at Cricket Performing Arts for 14 years. She also takes voice lessons at Big Dream Creative Arts Studio and has assisted Big Dream with a tree lighting event. Madison plans to attend college to major in psychology. Her other goals include applying to the Disney College Program and eventually becoming an employee of Disney.
