Milanof-Schock Library, 1184 Anderson Ferry Road, Mount Joy, has posted its upcoming programs. Unless otherwise noted, all programs are free and require registration by visiting http://www.mslibrary.org or calling 717-653-1510.
The library will be closed on Monday, Feb. 21.
Gently used books and media can be donated to the self-service shed behind the library on Tuesdays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.
People of all ages may attend Feed the Birds with Miss Jan, a drop-in event planned for Saturday, Feb. 5, from 1 to 3 p.m. All the materials will be provided to make pinecone bird feeders for Miss Jan to hang in the trees in front of the library.
The Winter Reading Program will take place through Saturday, Feb. 19. Papers can be picked up at the library.
Child, youth and family activities will include Super Science, for children age 3 and up, on Tuesday, Feb. 8, at 10:30 a.m.; Lego Challenge, a family program, on Feb. 8 at 6 p.m., with space limited; Story Time on Wednesdays from Feb. 2 to 23 and Thursdays from Feb. 3 to 24 at 10:30 a.m.; a Homeschool Art Class, for children age 7 and up, on Thursday, Feb. 10, at 1:30 p.m.; Fun Family Bingo, for people age 7 and up, on Tuesday, Feb. 15, at 6 p.m., with space limited; Homeschool STEM, for youths age 7 and up, Thursday, Feb. 17, at 1:30 p.m.; and Homeschool History Mystery, for children age 7 and up, Feb. 24 at 1:30 p.m. Families may also visit the library for Fun Fort Friday on Feb. 11 from 5 to 6 p.m. Attendees may bring blankets or sheets, flashlights and a drink. Space is limited.
A variety of programs will also be available for adults. People may visit the Puzzle Swap display in the library to give away or pick up gently used puzzles.
Blind Date With a Book is available during February. Patrons may select a wrapped book based only on a short teaser. They will not find out what the book is until they take it home and unwrap it. Alternately, people may choose to fill out a brief profile so the librarians can select a book tailored to their interests.
The library will take a break from the biweekly reading challenges for adults to return to "Cozy Up and Read Bingo." Through February, adults can pick up a bingo game sheet at the library, complete five challenges in a row, and submit their completed sheet to the library to earn a small prize and to be eligible for a grand prize drawing on Tuesday, March 1. Participants may complete as many bingo cards as they like.
Adult Game Night will offer a variety of board games and card games on Wednesday, Feb. 2, at 6 p.m.
Programs for adults will also include Closely Knit, for knitters and crocheters, on Mondays, Feb. 14 and 28, at 1 p.m., with no registration necessary; the Northwest Book Club on Feb. 9 at 6 p.m.; Joyful Stitchers Cross-Stitch Club, for people of all skill levels, on Feb. 19 from 9:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.; A Gathering of Artists Club on Wednesday, Feb. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m.; and Make-It Monday - "What's Your Mason Jar Sign?" on Feb. 28 at 6 p.m., open to people age 16 and older, with space limited.
The Friends of the Milanof-Schock Library will meet on Feb. 14 at 6 p.m. New members are welcome.
