The York County Conservation District (YCCD) will offer a free "Writing Your Own Manure Management Plan" workshop on Friday, March 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at York County Conservation District, 2401 Pleasant Valley Road, York. The goal of this workshop is for participants to complete a Manure Management Plan (MMP) in one day. All farms, including horse or hobby farms, that generate manure or apply manure to fields must have an MMP to comply with Pennsylvania state law.
Attendees will receive a copy of the updated "Manure Management Manual," and the presentations will share best practices for manure management and guide participants through a step-by-step process for developing an MMP. Time will be allotted throughout the presentations for individual assistance.
