Milanof-Schock Library, 1184 Anderson Ferry Road, Mount Joy, will offer a variety of programs and activities to the community. Programs are free and require preregistration, unless stated otherwise. Story Time with Miss Jan will feature stories, songs, and a craft based on a theme of the week. The program for families will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Super Science will be held on Tuesday, March 8, at 10:30 a.m. Children age 3 and older will enjoy activities that introduce elements of science seen in a child's everyday life.
A Lego Challenge for families will be held at 6 p.m. on March 8. Families will be given a shoebox of Legos with which to create something based on a given theme. Space is limited.
Programs for homeschooled children age 7 and older will be offered. All programs will begin at 1:30 p.m. Home School Art Class invites attendees to create theme-inspired art based upon the works of a particular artist on Thursday, March 10. On Thursday, March 17, Homeschool STEM will provide an opportunity to learn about a STEM element and perform a simple experiment based on that element. Homeschool History Mystery will offer a little bit of history, a little bit of writing. and the opportunity to learn about a mystery related to a real event in history on Thursday, March 24.
Fun Family Bingo will take place on Tuesday, March 15, at 6 p.m. for people age 7 and older. Books will be given as prizes. Space is limited.
Snorey Time Story Time will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29. Children are invited to attend in pajamas and slippers and bring a stuffed buddy. Space is limited.
The Adult Reading Challenge has returned. Biweekly reading challenges will be available at the library and posted on social media.
Adult Game Night will offer opportunities to play a variety of board games and card games at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2.
Quilt Study will take place on Wednesday. March 9, at 12:30 p.m. Quilt enthusiasts will gather to look over featured quilts and discuss their stitching, patterns, and history.
The Northwest Book Club will meet on March 9 at 6 p.m. The group will discuss "The Woman with the Blue Star" by Pam Jenoff.
Closely Knit will offer time for knitters and crocheters of all skill levels to socialize while working on individual projects. This activity will take place on Mondays, March 14 and 28, at 1 p.m. No registration is necessary.
The Friends of the Milanof-Schock Library will hold their next meeting on March 14 at 6 p.m. New members are welcome to attend.
Adults-Only Bingo will take place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16. Prize cards will be redeemable at the library for paperback books and DVDs. Space is limited.
A Gathering of Artists Club will meet on March 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. Artists are invited to bring their current project to the library and work in the company of others.
The Joyful Stitchers Cross-Stitch Club will gather on Saturday, March 19, from 9:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. People all skill levels are welcome.
Make-It Monday - Craft Swap Meet will take place on Monday, March 28, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Crafters may drop off unneeded supplies the week of Monday, March 21.
Gently used books and media can be donated to the self-service shed behind the library. Access to the shed is available on Tuesdays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.
