Advoz offers training programs in understanding and practicing better conflict, communication, and culture. Volunteers learn how to convene a specific process - facilitative mediation or restorative justice - in order to resolve conflicts in their community. Individuals can use the training to become an Advoz volunteer facilitator or take a training for professional and community development.
Conflict, Communication & Culture training, a nine-hour introduction to Advoz's work, principals, and skills, will be offered via Zoom from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursdays, May 5 to 19. This training is required for other Advoz trainings. The deadline for registration is Thursday, April 21.
Basic Mediation Training, a 31-hour course that walks participants through conflict resolution skills and the process of facilitative third-party mediation, will be offered from Tuesday, June 7, through Friday, June 10. The class will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Participants will learn how to co-mediate disputes involving neighbors, family members, or co-workers. The class will be held in person. The deadline for registration is Tuesday, May 24.
There is a cost for each program. Continuing education credits are available. For details and registration, visit https://advoz.org/training. For additional details, contact contact chris@advoz.org.
