Park Programs Set

Lancaster County Department of Parks and Recreation will offer programs to the community. Unless otherwise noted, there is a per-person fee, and activities will take place at the Environmental Center in Lancaster County Central Park, 1 Nature's Way, Lancaster. Additionally, registration and payment are required by noon on the business day before the event unless otherwise stated. Spring Saunter will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. on Sunday, March 27. A naturalist will lead participants of all ages around Central Park to explore the big and small changes on the trail brought on by spring. Attendees should dress for the weather.

TNT Science: Fire and Food will be held at Campsite 3, 19 Nature's Way, Lancaster, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29. Youths ages 11 to 17 will cook food over the fire, including chicken, potatoes, onions, corn, and green beans. All ingredients are optional because participants will build their own foil pack to be cooked in the fire. Desserts will also be offered. Attendees should bring a chair. Parents may drop children off, but a release waiver is required.

Planting for Wildlife, for people of all ages who are new to animal-friendly gardening or want to further their skills, will take place on Thursday, March 31, from 7 to 8 p.m. Topics will include trees, shrubs, and flowers that attract everything from birds and bees to mammals and amphibians.
