Local historian Darvin Martin will present portions from his book, "Family Record of Lester W. Martin and Hannah Elizabeth Fisher Martin," on Thursday, April 21, at 7 p.m. at the Martindale Mennonite Fellowship Center, 352 Martindale Road, Ephrata. Admission is complimentary.
The book spans the life of his grandparents, Lester W. and Hannah Fisher Martin, from when they were children in the 1920s and 1930s until they built a rancher-style house in 1964 beside the ruins of an old church near Napierville. The book and presentation will include new never-before-published family background information on the earlier ancestors of the local Martin, Fisher, and Weaver/Weber families, including photographs of many of the 144 quilts Hannah E. Fisher Martin created during her lifetime.
