Mohler Senior Center, 25 Hope Drive, Hershey, has announced that it is slated to move to Leader Center for Active Life, 605 Cocoa Ave., Hershey, during the last week of May.
Mohler Center will be closed and will not offer in-person programs from Monday, May 23, to Tuesday, May 31; Zoom programs will still be held, and an email will be sent with necessary links. Leader Center for Active Life will plan to hold its grand opening on Wednesday, June 1. All dates are subject to change.
Mohler Center will be closed on Good Friday, April 15.
On Monday, April 25, the book club will meet at 2:30 p.m. and will focus on "The Girl in the Letter" by Emily Gunnis.
At noon on April 25, a Go Comprehensive Lunch and Learn will be led by Jay Bhagat, a volunteer for the Financial Education Partnership. Bhagat will discuss how to avoid financial risk, navigate tax pitfalls, and avoid wasting retirement, as well as how retirement factors have changed. Lunch will be cold-cut sandwiches, chips, and dessert. There is no cost, but registration is required by Thursday, April 21.
A Goodbye Mohler Open House and Ice Cream Social has been set for Friday, May 20, from 1 to 3 p.m. It is sponsored by Country Meadows.
The center will offer several day trips, as well. Attendees must be fully vaccinated. The schedule is as follows: Baltimore Dine-Around, Thursday, June 9, with reservations necessary by Sunday, May 1, and Valor and Honor Trip to West Point/Hudson River, Tuesday, Aug. 30, with reservations necessary by Sunday, July 17. A fall Broadway trip and a holiday concert with Philly Pops and lunch at Chart House are also being planned, with details to be announced.
