The Historical Society of the Cocalico Valley (HSCV) will present an educational program, "Warm Your Hands Here," on Wednesday, April 27, at 7 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 167 E. Main St., Ephrata.
Richard Martin, a historical researcher from Penryn, will discuss 18th- and 19th-century iron stoves, stove plates and firebacks, describing their manufacture, usefulness and safety features. Copies of Martin's book about this subject will be available for purchase.

"Artistic Features Enhancing Stove Plates," a follow-up to the April 27 program, will be offered on Wednesday, May 25. Other upcoming events, all on Wednesdays, include a field trip to Rock Ford Plantation on July 27; "Court Cavalier Anna Thoma of the Ephrata Cloister" on Aug. 24; a gathering to watch the Ephrata parade on Sept. 21; and "The Myths of the PA Dutch, Amish, Mennonite and Anabaptist Cultures" on Oct. 26.
