Give Local York (GLY), a 24-hour giving event in York County, will return on Friday, May 6. From midnight to 11:59 p.m., donors may support local organizations with monetary gifts by visiting http://www.givelocalyork.org.
Nearly 300 nonprofits whose work benefits York County will participate. Last year, more than 11,000 donors came together to raise $3.7 million.
As it celebrates its fifth birthday, the event will bring in-person and online events back in full force. Nonprofits will provide street fair-type activities on the streets of downtown York during First Friday, a Give Local York-themed York Revolution game at PeoplesBank Park, and a finale concert to follow outside the stadium. Participating nonprofit organizations, volunteers, and sponsors will be invited to celebrate their efforts as the totals are tallied until midnight.
The Give Local York livestream, GLY Live, will present a real-time virtual event dashboard that will showcase total dollars raised, top participating organizations, leaderboard updates, a donor feed, and more. The goal for this year's Give Local York is for more than 11,100 donors to make a gift.
