Hershey Public Library, 701 Cocoa Ave., Hershey, will offer three special events to the community. All programs are free and will be held in person.
SPLAT Studio will visit on Saturday, May 7, from 2 to 3:45 p.m. for a library tradition. Young children can join the artists from SPLAT Studio to make a Mother's Day surprise for a special woman in their lives. Children will be split into two groups: those ages 2 to 6 and those age 6 and older.
A program for history buffs will take place on Wednesday, May 11, from 7 to 8 p.m. "The Lincoln Four: The Pursuit, Capture, and Execution of the Lincoln Conspirators" will be presented by Michael Jesberger, a history lecturer, tour guide, and re-enactor.
Discover the Wonderful World of Islamic Art with John Maietta will be offered from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 14. Participants will explore sacred calligraphy, oriental carpets, the glittering domes of the Taj Mahal, and the details of Persian court painting that express the beauty and diversity of Islamic art and architecture. Attendees will also learn about the form and function of art from the perspective of the anonymous craftsmen of the Islamic world.
